Our Story
Under His Wings was founded by OB/GYN Dr. Nena Hunt of Fairhope, Alabama, whose work with young women revealed a consistent pattern of unresolved trauma affecting their health, relationships, and life outcomes. After several years of prayer and discernment, Under His Wings became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2011 and welcomed its first three residents in 2013.
Since that time, the organization has served 59 girls through its residential program and dozens more through counseling, coaching, and outreach initiatives. Under His Wings has grown from a small prayer-led effort into a trusted community resource known for faith-based, trauma-informed care.
