Our inaugural program continues to serve teen girls ages 13-18, providing a structured, nurturing environment where they develop personal responsibility, resilience, and self-worth. With the guidance of dedicated houseparents who model honesty, integrity, and hard work, residents learn to thrive.

We have identified a critical gap in services for young women aged 18-23 in Baldwin County who need guidance, mentorship, and practical life skills.
Many simply need a support system—assistance with college applications, job readiness, and the confidence to step into adulthood. We are committed to bridging that gap by constructing a second home which will allow us to expand our residential program.

We realized we could still provide healing for girls struggling with hard things even if they didn’t need residential respite. Thus our off-campus program was born. Providing a counselor and a place to meet, we support the cost so that money is never an obstacle to healing.
Our Goal is Family Restoration.
We believe families play a crucial role in a girl’s long-term success. At Under His Wings, our ultimate goal is to bring healing not just to the girls, but to their families as well.

I came to Under His Wings because of some behavioral and mental struggles of mine. I was constantly sneaking behind my grandparents' backs and doing things I knew better than to do, and they didn't know what else to do. My Grandmother found Under His Wings while searching online for some type of help outside of our home.
By April of 2021 I was bringing my bags into the house and meeting the staff of Under His Wings. From the counseling to the everyday interactions with houseparents, teachers, and Mrs. Arcelia, I learned that life was not a continuous and dreadful act that we are forced to suffer through. I began to see the light in little things, the smiles that people gave me and the reassurance and love that was given to me by all of the staff, even just a simple "you're alright” would give me hope.
Even now, almost a year after completing the program, I still text, call, FaceTime, and on occasion, meet up with the people who helped me in the program. I speak to most of them on a daily basis, though it may just be a simple "good morning!" or "good afternoon! How are you?" It still makes my day and reminds me of the family I still have at Under His Wings.
