COURAGE HOME

The Courage to Seek Healing

Our inaugural residential program started in 2011, with our first home opening in 2013. The Courage Home program is a residential ministry that provides a home style environment.

Courage Home is not punitive therefore no girl is forced to enter the program. Under His Wings believes in giving voice to her hurt, and her first chance is having the final say in whether she enters the program or not. She will be doing the work. She will be leaving her home. Healing can not be force, it must be a fully submitted choice; "Do you WANT to get well?" Her answer must be "YES!"

While we encourage donation to support the work, families are not required to pay for their young lady to participate in our program. We also do not take any state or federal funds. We rely fully on grants and the generosity of donors and sponsors.

What each resident receives:

  • Residents & their famiies receive counseling to provide both the girl and her support unit the skills, tools and knowledge to overcome the obsticles that she's struggling with.

  • Houseparents provide a family role model where residents engage in general family dynamics such as chores, at-the-table meal, games, etc. Group living also requires learning to compromise, and communicate.

  • Education is specialized to each girl's learning style so she can thrive and learn through a one-on-one classroom that encourages the love of learning, not just checking boxes.

  • Various activities, such as equine therapy, canine therapy, regular exercise and other enrichments, keep their minds and bodies healthy.

  • As a Christian-based program, we do not reject any potential young woman based on her religious beliefs however, they are expected to attend Sunday services.

Some of the items funds cover:

  • Counseling fees

  • Education needs

  • Therapy costs

  • Basic needs: groceries, toiletries, household items, clothes.

  • Enrichment: What's life without a little fun? Movies, dining out, outings, field trips, etc.

  • Medical/dental care
